Hola!!! este blog es una actividad sugerida por nuestro profesor Juan Enrique Cabrales Sánchez que tiene como finalidad mejorar nuestro conocimiento en el idioma inglés, para entender que no es exactamente lo mismo expresarse en inglés como lo hacemos en español. No todas las entradas están escritas correctamente, pero a muchos estudiantes nos ha servido la orientación del profesor para no cometer errores comunes a la hora de escribir nuestras ideas en este idioma. A letter of Complaint

-A waiter spilled coffe all over your expensive jacket.It cost you $15 to have it cleaned

Dear Sir or Madam:

Last weekend my boyfriend and I arrived at your popular cafeteria looking for a very nice time to spend together.The motto in your window reads:"Where your friends are as special as you are.Unfortunately, the service that day didn't reflect those words.

As soon as we arrived there we had the chance to sit at a table and we waited for almost half an hour for a waiter to help us.There were not too many people for this to happen,but I have to point out that the music was good and this helped us to be patient.However,when we were finally serviced the waiter spilled a cup of coffee on my brand new jacket.It costed me $15 to have it cleaned!.

My jacket doesn't look that good anymore.I had never had an experience such like this anywhere.I hope you can understand my complaint because, I want you to refund the money for another brand new jacket.

Silly Questions, brilliant answers

1. Why do you think so many people turned down Bowerman´s idea?

= I think because other people didn´t think taht the logotype was so attractive to others, to put in their company.

2. Why do you think Smith´s professor gave him a C on the project?

= Maybe because he did´t put his ideas very clear, or it was not designed very well, or probably, the professor tought it would never result successful.

3. Which idea has led to the most imitations? = I think the Athletic shoes companies, many of them has imitaded the logo of the most recognized companies of this kind of shoes

4. Do you have any ideas for new products or services? What are they? = Well, actually I don´t have anything in mind. the advances of technology has increased amaizingly in the last few years.

A Letter of complaint

The following letter is an example of a letter of complaint,the teacher asks us to white in order to get new English Phrases to express.

Dear Sir or Madam:

On July 16 my friends and i arrived at your inn hopping to spend an enjoyable weeken.Unfortunately, Because of your pour service, our weekend was a disaster.Since your ad says have a fabolous time or get your money back, I am requesting that you refund our money.

From the moement we arrived, there were problems with the service.First a very unfriendly desk clerk couln't find our reservation.After waiting almost half an hour,we were led by another unfriendly clerk to our room.The room,which had a view of a parking lot instead of the bay, had not yet been vleaned,so we found dirty towels on the beds and cigarette buuts in the ashtrays.Despite these problems,none of your employees apologized to us.This was not the weekend we had been looking forward to.

Service at your in was not always like this. My prerious visits were alwyas enjoyable because of the cpurteaous service and clean rooms with beautiful views.Untli things change at your inn, i will never recommend it to anyone.Iexpect to receive my refund shortly.

Traveling Alone

Advantages

-You can go anywhere without having

to what for anybody.

-You can spend your time in whatever .

you want.

-Spen more wisely.

-You can eat whenever you want.

-you do not depend on somebody

likes and dislikes.

Disadvantages

-You are by yourself

-You dont know exacty where you are

-You can get lost.

Overall conclusion: Its better to travel with someone. So, If you wanna take all the risks by yourself, go ahead.

Do yOu knOw him?? =D

I want you to know my boyfriend, his name is Erick Johanan. He´s one year older than me =) thing that he hates, because I joke him about that. He studies Accountancy in the FCAT in the same university as me. In fact he lives very very nearby of my house, he gets along with my family and my friends. he´s very friendly and talkative, he´s like a parrot =) with large brown eyes and a little mouth enough to eat to kisses **** We share many things, we have a lot of common.

I´m so in love with him. I don´t even know nobody as he is, he has the typical thing that I don´t know, but i love it!!

We like to go outdoors and get fun! Last Sunday we went to the fair, and he is scared of the games there. I told him he is a hen!! We bought a key ring with a picture of us. I was so embarrased because the photographer ask me to stand in "puntitas" to reach my bo. People laugh a little and in the picture my face is like a tomato!! But despite that shamefulness I DON´T CARE!!!

º mY fRienD LuCy º

Lucy Gomez is the ost creative person I know. She started piano lessons when she was only 6 years old. At school, she was always creating interesting projects in her art class. When she was only 12 years old, she won a citywide poetry contest. Her parents were veryproud of her.

Now Lucy works as a sitcom writer for a popular TV show. She works with a group of writers, and together they have to think of fresh ideas. They also have to come up with funny dialog for the actors on their show because the actors have to play believable characters that will make the audience laugh. It is not an easy job, but Lucy does it well.

She starts work late in the morning and often works until 7 or 8 at night.

Lucy is very curious. She likes to travel and meet new people who have opinions thet are different from hers. She often carries a notebook with her and writes down what she sees and hears. Lucy tells me that these new experiences are a good source of ideas for her work. I always enjoy talking to her and am happy to know someone as bright and creative as Lucy.

On the Beach!!

I was taking a walk on the beach and stopped to look at the waves. I thought I saw something struggling in the water. It looked like a man who was having trouble swimming. At that moment I reached for my glasses, and then remembered I´d left them at home. I couldn´t see the object clearly. Just then a big wave came, a dn the man was gone. I ran as fast as I could to get the lifeguard. After that, we arrived back at the spot where I had seen the man. The lifeguard looked thorugh his binoculars. He said he didn´t see a thing. The next day I was pretty embarrassed. After that I bought a newspaper. There was an article about dolphins swimming near the shore. As soon as I read the article. I realized that I had seen a dolphin in the water- not a man! I never went anywhere without my glasses again.

Supporting Statements

In general,peolple from the city go out on Sundays to eat, even on Saturdays.These are the days in which the majority of the people don't work.
Generally, people who work, specially who are single, cook every day afer work.So, as a rule, they go out on weekends with family or friends to eat in fast.food restaurants or in someone's house.

I´m sorry I´ve been a little busy these days so I couldn´t upload anything! but here I am and I´m so happy, everything it´s ok in my life, my grades in my school are getting better. These days in wich its been raining a lot, in the news, there are so many people that their houses are sumerged! the majority of the country is suffering the consecuences of the global warming, the seasons are changing, the North Pole is melting increasing the level of the seas and dissapearing islands, our nature is destroided, in other parts of the world are in drought,the animals are dying, the environmental balance is out of control. And we don´t do anything to solve this pitiful problem. We must realise we´re in danger. And these are the consecuences of our acts our World needs our help! If we want to fix problems with more problems we are doing nothing by delete problems, I mean it!!

I want you to meet my family, we are Constantino Franco Family. The woman of geen blouse is my mother Liliana, the next is me* then my cousin Arantxa and her father Olivio, my uncle, and below, my sister Madeline, my father Angel and my brother Angel Adrian. We are not a big Family but we are all very close to each other.

Ea!! This is my favorite cousin!! her name is Arantxa, she´s 17 years old and I love her!! Although she lives in Veracruz, every holidays she visites us for go to the beach, to the movies and just for make fun =)
Our nickname, made by my brothers is "TATUs" because when she is here we are inseparables and for the kind of funny pictures we take.
